Blaenau Shed was set up in 2019 in partnership with GISDA (homeless prevention charity) with support and funding from Bangor University, Reaching Wider and Widening Access., plus North Wales Police PACT funding.

Two container units - one for a chill out/planning side and the other  as a workshop for activities like bike repairs, wood work and up upcycling - formed the original base, which became a valuable safe space especially for one-to-one support during Lockdowns. 

​

The young people in Blaenau are an amazing bunch, always up for a challenge, and always willing to get involved in local projects or anything to benefit the community. They usually meet on Thursday evenings, sometimes for some sport or swimming in the leisure centre, but always happy to get a snack together and chat. 

 

Some of them were involved in our Creative Project recently which was inspirational to a couple of our young people.
